LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ A judge has ordered a man who killed six members of a western Nebraska family in 1975 to remain in a psychiatric hospital.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports that Lincoln County District Judge Donald Rowlands ordered 67-year-old Erwin Simants to remain at Lincoln Regional Center, where he has lived since 1979.

That was the year Simants found not guilty by reason of insanity for the shooting deaths of six in the Kellie family of Sutherland, including three young children.  Doctors agree that Simants is no longer mentally ill, but Rowlands ruled there is evidence that Simants he continues to be dangerous to others.
