Lincoln Police are investigating an early morning shooting as a homicide.
Late Sunday night, police confirmed they are no longer looking for a suspect.
Police say they found a 20-year-old man shot at 814 S. 18th Street after responding to a disturbance around 2:45 a.m. Sunday.
Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs says the man was declared dead at the hospital.
Neighbors living in the same building say it sounded like a shot was fired inside a second-floor apartment. Wissam Muzher lives on the third floor, and says he didn't hear the gunshot, but was woken up by the commotion that followed.
"It started being bursts of screaming and shouting, more than one person," Muzher said.
It was a phone call that broke the news to one of the victim's friends. Hector Lopez says he didn't want to believe it.
"He's just a cool guy, he's a good guy," Lopez said. "I don't know what happened in there that'd make somebody shoot him, take his life."
No other details, including the victim's name, are being released at this time.
