Winter weather could be to blame for a fatality near York Sunday night.
It happened near the Utica interchange on I-80. The Seward County Sheriff's office said witnesses reported that a GM pickup truck lost control on a patch of black ice. Then it swerved and struck a Hyundai Santa Fe that was driving next to it. The Seward County Sheriff's office said they believe the impact caused the pickup to roll and slide off the road then continue down a steep embankment.
24-year-old Anthony Morales, from Denver, CO, died at the scene. The Seward County Sheriff's office said they do not believe Morales was wearing his seat belt at the time.
Seward County Sheriff Joe Yocum said weather may have been a factor, but they are still investigating the cause of the accident.
