Christmas came a little early for a Milford couple Thursday.

Jeremy and Shannon Steckly are the proud owners of a brand new home thanks to Southeast Community College.

It's all part of a school program that builds two homes each year. The college has been doing it for more than 50 years.

Thursday, the college auctioned off its 100th home.

"It's going to be exciting for our girls to grow up in this 100th house," Shannon Steckly said. "It's going to be great for the whole family."

"We're taking a lot of pride in this," construction student Cody Merritt said. "I really feel very privileged to be a part of this right now."

The home sold for $108,000. The money will go toward SCC scholarships and other school projects.
