LSO officials pulled over two men near northwest 48th and west Fletcher just before 2 p.m. Thursday.

The driver had a suspended license and improper registration, but the passenger was a man the deputy recognized.

27–year–old Jesse James Wilson was wanted on a theft warrant.

Soon after the car was pulled over, he took off on foot toward the Nine Mile Prairie area.

While LSO searched for him, they had to place a nearby elementary school on temporary lockdown.

"One of the deputies went to Arnold Elementary and advised them we were looking for Wilson and that we had information that he might be in possession of a firearm," says Sheriff Terry Wagner.

With the help of the state patrol and a canine unit, Wilson was caught near northwest 54th and west Superior around 2:15 p.m.

He didn't have weapons on him.

The driver, 34–year–old Rodney Foss was lodged for driving under a suspended license.
