A Lincoln duplex goes up in flames early Friday morning leaving one family homeless.

Lucas Leet and Alissa Boones spent Friday wondering what's left behind the doors of their home.

They haven't been allowed inside because the investigation into what caused the fire is still ongoing.

Around 1:30 a.m. fire crews were called to 5424 W. Hughes.

The woman who lives on the other side of duplex, called 911 saying she saw flames.

At the time, the residents were not home.

The couple would soon learn, they've lost everything, due to smoke and water damage.

"You work for something so hard and you go to work everyday and you put money into something and it's something you can't control and it's all gone in a blink of an eye," says fire victim Lucas Leet.  "Now my sons without diapers, clothes everything.  These are the clothes we got, on our back."

No one was injured in the fire.

The opposite side of the duplex has minor smoke damage.
