The man was life flighted to St. E's in critical condition, his wife died inside the home.

we're told she was in her fifties.

Fire investigators have determined the cause, they say a space heater ignited a nearby bag of clothes.

The trailer is a total loss, fire officials say by the time they got here the damage was already done. It took them about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.

Many neighbors heard the sirens, but weren't sure what was going on.

"We didn't think anything about it until our niece called us from Walmart and told us not to go outdoors because of all the smoke," says Shirley Kadlec who lives nearby.

She say she didn't know much about the couple, but they're shocked by the unexpected death.

"It's so scary when you hear all that, it's just, it's just scary."

The names of the couple will be released after family members are notified. An autopsy is planned for the woman killed.
