Friends and family would describe Dave Reece as a loving man with a passion for motorcycles.

"Dave has touched so many people's lives. He's everybody's best friend, it doesn't matter what your status in this life is, but you will feel like you're his best friend," his sister Virgina Leeker said.

By looking at the crowd in Duggan's Pub, many could call themselves Dave's friend.

"It's overwhelming, just amazing that this place is packed like that for Dave," his brother Mark Reece said.

In June, Dave was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. With hospital bills racking up, his family said they wanted to lend a helping hand.

"He does have insurance, but there's things insurance doesn't cover, as we all know, and so this is to help the family off set those bills," Leeker said.

Dave could not be at the fundraiser, but he was there in spirit as hundreds celebrated his life.

"I wish he could be here, his family and his friends are here, it's a wonderful event," Mark Reece said.

If you'd like to contribute to the cause, go to any Union Bank branch and make a donation in Dave's name.
