Adilyn Jean Galusha is barely a day old and she's Lincoln's New Year's baby.

"We were just hanging out at home, I had just got back from getting a cinnamon roll and ate that and then my water broke, so I was like 'oh, well better get going!'," her mother Skyler Novotny said.

She was born at 3:03 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Advanced Baby Center. Adilyn came as a little bit of a surprise, she was eight days early. Her parents said they were happy she came sooner than expected, they couldn't wait to hold their seven pound, seven ounce bundle of joy.

"Right now I'm just a lot of excitement and joy, just to be able to see her and actually hold her now, it's a blessing," her father Frank Galusha said.

Adilyn is Frank and Skyler's first child and one of the first grandchildren in the family.

"When I first saw her she reminded me of Skyler, Skyler had a lot of dark hair when she was born too so it was overwhelming," her grandmother Lanette Kreifels said.

For these parents, they said the excitement of having Lincoln's New Year's baby doesn't compare to how excited they are for Adilyn's future.

"We're just going to do the best we can as parents to take care of her and support her with anything she wants to do," Frank said.

Bryan Health was only a few minutes late of having Lincoln's New Year's baby. Their first one was born at 3:26 a.m.
