The family of one of the two women hurt in a two–car crash near 48th and Normal tells us she's unconscious with a part of her neck fractured.
They say the other driver suffered a broken foot.
Both families want to thank the two good Samaritans who stopped to help them as they waited for emergency crews to arrive.
Rescue officials were called to an area on 48th Street, between Normal and Van Dorn, around 7:30 a.m. Thursday for a two vehicle accident.
Officials evaluated passengers on the scene. No one has been taken to the hospital, so far.
Officials have blocked off traffic through the area, and are on-hand to re-route drivers.
Drivers are urged to use caution during their morning commutes.
So far this morning, there have been six accidents reported to authorities.
We'll have more information coming up on our Midday show at 11:00 a.m.
