An erratic driver who caused major damage to a section of south Lincoln is on the run.  Police said they're still searching for the suspect.  They believe the suspect ran off after the crash.

The crash happened at the corner of 17th and Washington shortly after midnight on Friday.  Police said the driver ran up onto the curb, plowed over a fire hydrant, a power box and light pole before coming to a stop in front of a camper.  Debris from the crash hit the camper, causing more damage.  When police got to the scene they found the destroyed SUV but no driver.  Officials said the driver took off after the crash, leaving the vehicle behind.

No one was in the camper at the time of the crash.  The condition of the driver is unknown.  The police investigation continues.
