Lincoln Police are investigating a report of more than two dozen letters sent to two separate buildings in Lincoln. Police say at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, an anonymous caller claimed he sent 14 letters to the State Capitol and 14 letters to the County/City Building. Police say information was received that some, but not all, of the letters had hazardous materials in them. The caller said he did this because he is protesting a judicial system that doesn't work.
Police say the mail room of the County/City Building was contacted and inspected, but nothing suspicious was found. The common areas of both the first and second floors at 555 S. 10th were also searched. The State Patrol is investigating the letters allegedly sent to the State Capitol. Police have no suspects at this time.
