UPDATE:  Wayne State Police say no signs of apparent foul play were found at the scene.  Also, preliminary autopsy results showed that neither drugs or alcohol were believed to be a factor in the cause of Key's death.  Police say complete autopsy and toxicology results may take several weeks.

A talented student–athlete from Lincoln is found dead in his dorm room.  Former Lincoln North Star athlete Eddie Key III was found dead in his dorm room at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Wayne State Athletics web site listed the 18–year–old as a 6–foot–2, 270–pound freshman defensive end.

Key was a two–year starter for Lincoln North Star before heading to college.

It earned him second team All–Nebraska and Super State Honors as a senior.

He was also an All–Heartland Conference and All–City Selection as well.

An autopsy was scheduled Sunday.

Authorities continue to investigate his death.
