Dog lovers from around the state came together for the 6th annual I Love My Dog Expo at the Lancaster Event Center.
Organizers say about 3,000 people and 1,000 furry friends attended.
"There's not a lot of places where you can take your dog with you and kind of have the whole family together," Heidi Francisco of Lincoln said.
The Expo featured more than 75 vendors, from dog accessories to treats, and entertainment every hour.
"We have veterinarians and clothing and just anything you can ever imagine, you can find it here," Organizer Michelle Ashley said.
The event raises money for Domesti-PUPS, an organization that provides service dogs for people with disabilities.
Organizers and attendees agree it's the 20 rescue organizations present at the event that make it so important. People looking to adopt had a chance to meet dozens of potential new family members.
"We're contemplating getting a dog for our family, it'd be our first one, so we thought this would be a great place to come for some more information," Angie Stein of Ashland said. "We had a couple that kind of caught our eye."
"I liked Princess a lot because I liked her name," Stein's 7-year-old daughter Ellie added.
Last year's event raised $25,000 and organizers say they're hoping for a similar figure this year.
