There was a special surprise for children at the Southeast Community
College Child Development Center, Wednesday.
Molly the fire safety dog stopped by.
Molly and her firefighter friend, Dayna, are dedicated to
teaching fire safety knowledge and skills to children and their caregivers.
They travel the country spreading the word.
"If I stood up their and I talked and I just shared fire
safety, children don't seem to, it doesn't grasp their attention as much as if
you have a dog. So if you have an
educationally sound program and it's visual, it really does help," says
Dayna Hilton, who's a volunteer firefighter from Arkansas.
Dayna and Molly will be in town for the rest of the week,
making a few other appearances.
