The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of meth was collected in a drug bust by deputies. The sheriff's office says deputies arrested two men trying to transport the drugs.
55–year–old Alfonso Garcia, of California, and 41–year–old Fredy Mendoza of Kansas were arrested Sunday night near Highway 77 and I–80. A K-9 unit searched the vehicle. Sheriff Terry Wagner says the dog sniffed out nearly 16 pounds of meth. Wagner says the drugs were hiding in a secret compartment inside the dash of the car.
"If that meth were sold by the ounce, if would be about $712,000," Wagner said.
Garcia and Mendoza were arrested for possession with the intent to deliver.
