Congressman Jeff Fortenberry was in Lincoln today talking about military opportunities to local high school students.

It was for the 2014 Military Leadership Day held at North Star. Every branch of the military was represented.

Fortenberry says the goal is to provide information to students who want to jump-start their military careers.

"I couldn't be more proud of the young people that are here exploring the possibility of a military career, great to get a start in life, great way to serve the country," Fortenberry said.

About 50 people attended the program, which included an overview of the five military academies and application information.
