PIERCE — A pre-prom incident captured on camera in Pierce, Nebraska on Saturday has gone viral.

Social media sites and a national TV network have picked up the story of 21 Pierce high school students plunging into a creek after the bridge they were on overturned.  The students were in the middle of a pre-prom photo shoot.

The bridge is at the home of one of the students.

Moments after all 21 teens had posed on the bridge and a few photos were snapped, there was a loud cracking sound and the bridge overturned. The students, decked out in their finery, were unceremoniously dumped into the creek below.

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
