John Jones has been running since he was just a little boy. He's now runs for Nebraska Wesleyan, but it all started with his grandfather.

"My grandpa has been my biggest inspiration in running. Since I was probably about five or six, we started running road races in Lincoln and eventually moved up to the half marathon," he says.

But John's grandfather has Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and it's starting to slow him down. So he can't run the marathon this year, at least not alone.

John is planning to push him along in a special push cart, which Scheels helped provide for him. He says it's a way for him to continue a legacy his grandfather started.

"He would always be my like mentor and now I can kind of turn it back on him and we can do something cool together."

And training? John has a roommate sit in the pushcart while he runs. He practices with it four times a week. His grandfather, who lives just outside Beatrice, has been preparing too.

"He just got back from Arizona and my Dad picked him up from the airport and when he got off the plane he said he just finished his training. He just sat on a plane for four hours, so he's good."

John hopes to finish the race in under four hours, but says just crossing the finish line will be something to celebrate.
