The Pierce County Sheriff Department and the Nebraska State Patrol are investigating a rollover accident that killed three people and injured six others.  The rollover happened in Pierce County, about 20 miles north of Norfolk, around 7:00 a.m. on Monday.

Officials said a Ford Excursion with nine occupants was headed down Hwy. 81 when it rolled multiple times, ending up in a ditch.

All nine people in the SUV were thrown from the vehicle.  Three of the occupants died from their injuries.  The survivors were taken to an area hospital by the Randolph and Osmond Rescue Squads.

The names and ages of the victims are not being released until family members have been notified.
