An early morning storm that rolled through the area knocked out power to about 2,000 Lincoln Electric customers and caused damage to some areas in and around Lincoln. Heavy winds cause trees and branches to knocked down power lines. LES reports there were power outages near 56th and Garland, 27th and Salt Creek Roadway and 37th and Lake Streets. Most of the power has been restored to those areas.

Another round of strong storms are expected later Sunday in the Channel 8 viewing area. We'll have the very latest forecast tonight at 5:30.
