Tuesday afternoon, joined by Mayor Chris Beutler and members of city council, City Impact was officially recognized as the newest member of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. The ceremony was held in front of the construction site of City Impact's new $4.5 million home, located just to the north of Peter Pan Park. So far, they've raised nearly 90-percent of the funding goal.

President and Executive Director, Brad Bryan, says the center has helped youth in poverty here in Lincoln for nearly two decades. Now, a permanent building is the logical next step.

"It's going to be a place where everyone can come together," Bryan said. "Be a part of the community together, grow together and become leaders in the community."

The center also launched the "I Heart My City" campaign Tuesday as a way to spread the word about City Impact and help reach the rest of its $4.5 million funding goal - about $500,000.
