The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says multiple people were fighting each other Wednesday night sending one man to the hospital. Deputies say it happened just before midnight Wednesday night at Branched Oak Lake. They say a 21-year-old suffered several injuries including a skull fracture and lacerations. He remains unconcsious at a Lincoln hospital.
The sheriff's office says they believe the fighters were drinking alcohol.
"We'd encourage people that are camping or utilizing the Game and Parks areas this Memorial Day weekend to call the Sheriff's Office if there's any indication of problems that may be occurring," Chief Deputy Jeff Bliemeister said.
Deputies are still investigating the case. Bliemeister said when deputies arrived, most of the individuals had fled the scene. The incident is the second time deputies were called to the lake. Earlier this week, two people were arrested by the sheriff's office. They're accused of hitting a man three times with a car after a fight.
