Lincoln police say 48-year-old Kevin Ballard was arrested Monday night for four counts of 2nd degree Forgery. Police say the arrest was based on his involvement in altering checks written for magazine subscriptions and cashing them for much greater amounts.
Police records show Ballard has an extensive criminal history in Lincoln that includes 8 arrests for soliciting without a permit. Police say on Thursday, Ballard sold a magazine subscription to a resident, but then altered the $24 check and cashed it for $700. It's the 4th incident reported in a week.
Police say Ballard was pulled over during a traffic stop late Monday near NW 6 & Cornhusker Hwy. They say he was positively identified in all four forgery cases.
