Less than a month after Pete Ricketts won the GOP nomination for governor – he has a running mate. Monday afternoon, Ricketts announced current Lieutenant Governor Lavon Heidemann for that spot.
Heidemann says his number one priority will be to fulfill his current role. Heidmenann was appointed to the number two role in early 2013 after the resignation of Rick Sheehy. The life–long farmer has also been a state senator and served on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.
"I make the vow to rural Nebraskans that their voices will be heard. That is important. What's good for the state is good for agriculture and what's good for Agriculure is good for the state," Heidemann said.
Democrat chuck hassebrook has not yet announced a running mate. The general election is November 4th.
