FIRTH - The Washington Nationals selected Norris standout catcher Jakson Reetz in the third round of the MLB draft with pick No. 93 overall.
Reetz just finished his senior season at Norris High School where he batted .486 with 37 RBI and eight home runs. He's now the first high school player since 1996 drafted in the first five rounds of the MLB draft from the state of Nebraska.
Reetz is committed to play baseball at Nebraska, but he has until July 18 to make a decision to go pro or go to school. Once at Nebraska, Reetz would not be eligible for the MLB draft until his junior year.
