Set to Showcase New App Store & Custom App Builder At Enterprise Apps World
17-18 June 2014, Olympia National, London, On Stand 5.
5app, the mobile enterprise enabler, goes live in the UK today with its DIY enterprise app store and custom app builder designed to help businesses satisfy their growing appetite for productivity apps and mobile cloud services.
5app aims to fill a growing gap in the market for simple, quick-to-deploy mobile app management (MAM) solutions targeted at mid-tier enterprise businesses that want to mobilise their business processes and embrace Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).
"Lack of control over apps and the use of devices for both personal and business use is a challenge," explains Stuart Mason, 5app Chief Executive Officer. "But clamping down on use is not the answer. Rather, we aim to make it easier to create, find and use the right apps for the job. 5app helps enterprises take back control with refreshingly simple online tools that leverage existing in-house IT skills."
5app's new 'free' service (a lite enterprise app store) allows companies to curate a list of apps from both iTunes and Google Play, and takes just minutes to set-up. It gives employees an easy-to-find directory of all the publicly available mobile applications they need in one secure place.
For £2.50 per user/per month, companies can upgrade to 5app's premium service where they can add their own custom apps, as well as apps from other distribution points, to the store. All apps are securely published to employees, with access managed via Active Directory Groups.
5app is also Beta testing its build service, which for an additional £5.00 per user/per month allows companies to mobilize business process by rapidly developing apps in-house. Enterprises can utilize existing skills by developing in standard web code, which will then be turned into fully functioning mobile apps for iOS and Android devices. Companies can share these apps instantly with selected team members for testing, before rolling out company wide.
5app offers the following benefits for mid-tier companies:
