It was a terrifying Father's Day for a Crete man and his 8–year–old son when police say a man high on K2 rammed their car several times.
It happened just after 11:00 a.m. Sunday. Police say the father and son were driving on 27th St. between "A" and South when their vehicle was suddenly hit from behind. The father attempted to pull over, but then tried to get away after the car rammed into him several more times.
Police say the other driver, 29–year–old David Scott of Sargent, Neb. and his female passenger smoked synthetic marijuana just before the incident.
"At one point, the victim driver braked but the car continued to push him down the street with force," Officer Katie Flood said.
Police say the couple ditched their vehicle near 77th and Saltillo Rd. They were found walking in a field near 1st and Rokeby Rd. around noon by sheriff's deputies and Lincoln police.
Scott was arrested for felony criminal mischief and inhalation on an intoxicating compound. The woman was cited and released.
The father and his 8-year-old son were not injured. Damage to their car is estimated to be around $5,000.
