Beaver Crossing and volunteers will take a break from the clean up Saturday night as the volunteer fire department hosts the Beaver Crossing Street Dance.
This comes a little more than a month after an EF3 tornado demolished the town.
The event will be free, but donations will be accepted at the door. Event organizers ask people to wear their gray, "Small Town Strong" t-shirts to the dance Saturday. The idea for those shirts came from a Beaver Crossing resident and they are being sold to raise funds to rebuild the local park and arch along with the baseball fields and grand stand.
If event goers don't have one of those shirts, organizers say an ordinary gray shirt will do.
Food and drink will be served starting at 6 p.m. with the dance beginning at 9 p.m.
The fire department will also be raffling off items throughout the night. Some of the things people can win include a flat screen TV, multiple gift cards and a pair of grills.
