Volunteers with LincTrack GPS Solutions got their hands dirty cleaning up the beach by Area 14 at Branched Oak Lake.
"We're going to come out and clean up, I mean we brought the trash cans, we're bringing trash bags and all of that stuff," president Kelly Jensen said.
LincTrack donated several trash bins to Branched Oak Lake so Area 14 can be kept clean, especially with the Fourth of July right around the corner.
"We're willing to donate some time and actually help instead of creating more work for Game and Parks is not what we're looking for, we're just looking for a way to be able to clean up," Jensen said.
Memorial Day weekend, deputies and Game and Parks had to break up a party of nearly 700 people in Area 14. That wasn't the only incident, authorities handed out several citations between Branched Oak and Pawnee Lakes during an enforcement project last month.
Now, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and Game and Parks are looking for a solution, one idea is to regulate alcohol bans for more areas, but nothing's been decided yet. The two offices are meeting to come up with a plan to crack down on the crowds for the Fourth of July weekend.
For now, many campers and boaters, just like these, want to make sure their beach at Branched Oak Lake is safe from broken glass and trash.
"This gives us a way to bring the trash up to the dumpsters and get rid of it," Jensen said.
