Lincoln Police say an 18-year-old Texas girl is in critical condition after falling from a 6th story window at a downtown hotel. It happened just before 12:30 a.m. at Embassy Suites Sunday.

Police Capt. Martin Fehringer says the girl is in Lincoln taking part in the International Thespian Festival at UNL. She was found on the rooftop of the second floor. He says the hotel window she came from was broken.  Police say they do not know why the girl fell from the window. The incident is under investigation.

Bryan Sullivan, General Manager of Embassy Suites, released this statement:

“We can confirm that an incident happened today at the hotel. We appreciated our hotel staff’s prompt, professional response. We are fully engaged with local authorities in their investigation of the situation. Our heart goes out to the individual, family and friends. To maintain guest and associate privacy, we do not disclose details as a policy. Additional questions should be directed to the local authorities.”
