Fireworks are a staple for most Independence Day celebrations. At Branched Oak Lake, campers will be able to shoot them off, but only in two areas, Lieber's Point and Area 1.
"You can shoot fireworks there from 8 in the morning until midnight," Parks superintendent Tom Morrison said.
Park officials said as long as you buy the fireworks in Nebraska, you can shoot anything off.
It's not just fireworks Game and Parks officials will be monitoring. Memorial Day weekend, more than 700 people were partying at Area 14. To help crack down on the crowds, authorities set up stricter parking rules.
"Once the parking lot is full, then that's it," Morrison said.
One idea was to limit areas where people can drink alcohol, but right now you can drink on any campground, just not the designated beaches or roadways.
More conservation officers will also be patrolling the areas to make sure the holiday is safe for all campers.
"You got to camp, you got to have fun, you got to boat, you got to fish, that's a weekend we expect everybody out and we expect everybody to have a good time," Morrison said.
Park officials said almost every area is full for the Fourth of July, but tenting is available in Areas 10 and 11.
