Nebraska State Patrol officials in North Platte confirm that 44-year-old Jeffry Hafner of Ogallala is dead after his van struck a semi trailer on Hwy 30 in Keith County.

The accident happened just before 10 Thursday night. State Patrol officials say Hafner was driving westbound in a van when he struck the trailer of a semi that was turning east onto Hwy 30.

The driver of the semi was not injured. Officials say both drivers had on seatbelts. No citations have been made.
