New website discloses state contracts

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Nebraska has launched a new website that's designed to provide greater transparency and accountability to state contracts.


The website is http://NebraskaSpending.gov . It lets people monitor state contracts for free. They may be searched by vendor, agency and dollar amount.


The website is operated by the Department of Administrative Services and was created in response to legislation introduced by Sen. Sue Crawford, of Bellevue.
