The man Lincoln police believe fatally stabbed his son-in-law, made his first court appearance Friday afternoon.

Lancaster Judge, Timothy Phillips handed down the charges, including second degree murder.

Police say 77-year-old Bayapa Lingala stabbed 46-year-old Suhjay Nooka in the chest Tuesday night.

The incident happened at their home near 14th and Pinelake during a birthday party.

Nooka later died at the hospital.

An affidavit says Lingala admits to the crime.

He needed an Hindi interpreter in court.

Through the interpreter he informed the judge, "I've told you everything."

Officials haven't said what led up to the stabbing.

Lingala's bond is set at one million dollars.

He must also surrender his passport.

His next court appearance is set for August 29th.

Sujay Nooka was laid to rest Friday, he was a father of three.
