ALBANY, N.Y., Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Reports on the progress of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in seven southern states (Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, South Carolina, Texas, and West Virginia) will be formally released and discussed in a forum hosted by The Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government of the State University of New York, the Brookings Institution, and the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania on Monday, August 25th, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the National Press Club's Holeman Lounge, 529 14th Street NW in Washington, DC.

The reports are part of the 35-state, 61-researcher ACA implementation project of the Rockefeller Institute, the Brookings Institution, and the Fels Institute of Government. This event is also sponsored by West Virginia University and the Governing Institute.

The program will consist of an overview of ACA implementation in the southern states by Christopher Plein, Eberly Family Professor for Outstanding Public Service at West Virginia University.

(Please note that South Carolina will not be represented at the event, but additional discussion on South Carolina will be featured in the overview.)
