Sarah Fili

A Nebraska girl at heart, Sarah grew up in Omaha and graduated from Marian.  In 4th Grade, her elementary school took a tour of Nebraska Wesleyan University. Sarah had her mind set on going there and didn't apply anywhere else.  She chose to go into broadcasting because, “I realized I was videotaping moments of my life only to show friends and family later,” says Sarah. “I'm a firm believer in documenting memories on film,” she adds.

Sarah graduated from NWU with a degree in Communication Studies. She minored in Marketing and Spanish, studying abroad in Spain after her sophomore year. While she was in school, she spent a year interning at a local station. “Lincoln has been my home away from home and I'm excited to tell Lincoln's stories,” says Sarah.  She became a photojournalist for Channel 8 Eyewitness News in May of 2015.  Before that she was an evening video editor.

Sarah enjoys getting back home to Omaha to spend time with her family and their Boston Terriers. She recently got a new puppy, named Wrigley. Can you tell she's a Chicago Cubs fan? Sarah has a Lincoln Teammate, who she has mentored since 6th grade. In her free time, she likes to do boot camp classes at a local gym. She likes spending time at local coffee shops and you may even see Sarah riding the trails on her bicycle.
