It's a story line we've been following for more than a year.

But the wait is over, the hops are fresh and Blue Blood Brewing Company is open for business.

The company celebrated its grand opening Wednesday.

There are more than a dozen beers on tap.

But that's not the only thing the law enforcement inspired brewery serves up.

They also have tours of the infamous Robbers Cave connected to the restaurant.

the company has seen some setbacks inside the cave.

They found rare northern long–eared bats living inside that had to be protected.

And it used to be a high school hangout for Lincoln teens, so there's also been some restoration to the cave walls.

Otherwise...Blue Blood has stuck to its roots.

Legend has it outlaw Jesse James hid in the cave during the late 1800s, making it a perfect home for the brewery's crime–themed beer list.

And they always save a seat -- and one last beer -- For any fallen American police officer.
