B. Don Burman, the director of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs tells us, "All of us here no matter which department we actually work in are here for the veterans. We make sure their experience is a grand."

Two main topics that will be covered at today's open house How to make filing claims easier; and future plans for the Omaha national cemetery. The VA is expanding its town halls to include 'claims clinics'.

This is where veterans will be able to speak directly with a claims processors who will walk them through the filing process, and  answer any questions. The department of veterans affairs will also formally dedicate the Omaha national cemetery on august fifth.

The ceremony will include a dedication plaque and giving military honors.

Burman says, "We understood that we are one family.. One team with one mission."

The cemetery will serve the burial needs of more than 112,000 veterans.  Officials in the VA office says they are confident the open house will be a success.

" I  have numerous letters from our veterans indicting their thankfulness, " said Burman.

This event is open to the public.
