A group called Re-Creation performed a series of school-themed song and dance routines at the Lincoln VA on Friday.

The group has been around since the 1980s, providing what it calls "therapeutic entertainment" for veterans all across the country.

Their goal is to visit every VA facility in the U.S. to let veterans know they're not forgotten.

" The best part is to see the veterans when their faces light up," Jordan Marolf, one of the performers, said.

"Especially when we're doing a lot of patriotic music and it really gets to them and you see tears reaching down their faces - and then we know that we did our job."

Everyone in the group is a volunteer.

They perform more than 300 shows a year.

Their next stop is in Bellevue on Saturday.
