Police arrested a man they say stole a loaded gun and assaulted a police officer.

They say 18-year-old Quincy Jennings took the gun out of a pick-up parked near 22nd and O. The owner of the pick-up had gone inside a nearby store for just 15 minutes, then came out to find the door pried open and the gun gone.

It happened yesterday evening around 5 p.m. Police say they found Jennings an hour later; they were looking for him for a different incident, and when they went to arrest him he tried to punch the officer and run away.

They caught him, and found the stolen and loaded gun on his person. He was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm and assault on an officer.
