Shooter in Lincoln's first homicide of 2015 sentenced Wednesday

22-year-old Brandon Benson was sentenced 60 years to life for 2nd degree murder in district Court Wednesday.

He was originally charged for first degree murder and several other felonies. 

Benson shot and killed 19-year-old Richard Randall, Jr. last November at a home near 48th and O street after an attempted robbery.

He was also was sentenced 10-20 years for additional charge.

21-year-old Joseph Bratt was sent to prison for his connection to the attempted robbery last week. 

The third person, Joshua Lock will appear in court for his sentencing Dec. 16.

Police said when a manager for that company checked the property on Monday, he found extensive damage.  The victim said there were several holes in the walls and floors of every room in the home and the entire house was covered in insulation.  ...More >>
