Lincoln Fire and Rescue battled this garage fire at 62nd & Fremont* at around 8:15 p.m.

The garage is connected between two houses, but luckily no one is injured.

Leo Benes, battalion chief says, "On either side of the detached garage. Their being evacuated just for safety."

It took fire officials less than 15 minutes to control the blaze.

Benes says, "We are going to have to shut the power of the house due to the extend of damage of the garage."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the amount of damage is not known at this time.

Fire officials say since they had to use a lot of water to put the fire out they want drivers to be careful because the roads around the home might be slick.

Benes said, "The temperature starting to drop, so I like to notify everybody in northeast part of Lincoln. We are going to have a slick spot on Fremont Street."
