Three people are running to become the democratic candidate for governor.

Current state senator and former air force pilot Bob Krist announced his decision to run in February, "I'm running for governor for the state of Nebraska to restore leadership and hardworking Nebraska values."

Krist says he wants to focus on unity and problem solving instead of political parties.

His priority issues are tax relief, prison reform and finding a way to make the government more efficient.

Vanessa Gale Ward is an activist from Omaha who's also running. She's making finding relief for working families her platform.

Ward says she wants to lessen the pressures weighing on families by balancing the state's budget so tax dollars are not being misappropriated.

She also wants to fight the war on poverty and bring better paying jobs to the state.

Business owner and professor at the University of Nebraska Omaha Tyler Davis Announced his decision to run back in January.

Davis plans to focus on building the Silicon Prairie in the state, reforming the state's healthcare system and reforming the prison system.

We reached out to both Ward and Davis, they either didn't want to go on camera or didn't provide any official statement.
