Press Release From Lincoln Police Department and City Of Lincoln:

On Saturday May 11, 2018, the Lincoln Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol partnered for a special enforcement detail in an effort to help reduce street racing on and around O Street and trespassing at nearby businesses.

The objective was to reduce the amount of street racing, unauthorized congregation at nearby businesses, and noise reduction, while helping to promote safe driving practices and to improve the quality of life for nearby residents.

Similar projects focused on street racing will continue throughout the year.

Results from the traffic project: 63 Official citations including excessive noise, insurance violations, fictitious plates, registration violations, and various moving violations 89 Warning citations 2 Misdemeanor criminal violations 2 DUI arrests 34 Speeding official citations 15 Speeding warning citations 1 Possession of drug paraphernalia 1 Open alcohol container 1 Driving under suspension
