The Nebraska Attorney General's office announced Thursday morning that they will seek the death penalty against Aubrey Trail.

Trail was charged with first-degree murder in the November 2017 death of 24-year-old Sydney Loofe of Lincoln.

In released court documents, the Attorney General's office said that Trail has "a substantial prior history of serious assaultive or terrorizing criminal activity." They also said that they believe Loofah's murder "manifested exceptional depravity."

Trail will appear in Saline County District Court tomorrow, July 13.

This is a developing story. Channel 8 will have more information as it becomes available.
