LINCOLN, Neb. - Mikaela Foecke and Kenzie Maloney are two of the most decorated Nebraska volleyball players of all time.
Three straight trips to the Final Four for the senior duo, and they want to make sure that they max out the potential of this year's team.
"I think the biggest thing is just going out and leaving everything out on the line," Foecke said on Tuesday. "We've gone every single year to the Final Four, so just making sure we are maxing out this team as senior captains is one of our biggest goals."
Coach John Cook believes he has nothing to do with his two senior captain's leadership. He says it has everything to do with the Nebraska volleyball program.
"There's an evolution that happens of players here," Cook said. "It's not something we're doing because I think leadership is really difficult to teach. It's about this program and how big it is in the state. What it means. They take those responsibilities and accept them and run with them."
