Lincoln Police say a man and his poodle are both recovering from injuries after being attacked by two strange dogs.

It happened around 5:45 Friday morning near 27th and Tierra Street.

The 60-year-old victim told police he was walking his poodle when the other dogs, a pit bull/boxer mix and a bulldog/lab mix, attacked them.

Police said the man suffered four bites to his forearm, and his dog was also bit and "covered in blood and shaking uncontrollably."

Both the man and the poodle received emergency medical care.

One witness told LPD they saw the attack happening and tried to help pull one of the dogs off of its own owner.

All three animals were on leashes.

Animal Control has taken custody of the pit bull and bulldog.

The poodle is at an emergency veterinary clinic.

LPD says no citations had been issued as of Friday morning.
