Bryan Health held its annual Tribute to Trauma Champions Thursday night as they recognized Miles Margritz.

Margritz vehicle was struck by a car going 145 mph earlier this year. He was left with severe injuries. Punctured organs, broken bones and torn ligaments were just a few of his injuries.

Bryan recognizes an individual each year who defied the odds in their recovery and live to tell their story.

Margritz endured countless surgeries and hours of physical therapy, as members of the Bryan West Medical Center helped him along his journey.

The event was held at the Cornhusker Marriott and our very own Rod Fowler emceed the event.

First responders and the Bryan Trauma Team received gifts for their dedication and perseverance in the rescue of Margritz in his darkest hour.

Margritz and his family received medals, recognizing their fight on the difficult road to recovery. Additionally, he received a signed jersey from his favorite hockey team, the Dallas Stars.
