Police looking for suspect who stole car at gunpoint, car found in creek
Law enforcement agencies are responded to a medical emergency in north Lincoln, after a car was found upside down in a creek.
The car, a 2015 silver Nissan Sentra, was reported stolen around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Lincoln Police say a 27-year-old man reported he and a passenger were driving near N 42nd and Holdrege Street when a man approached the car and pointed a gun at them and told them to get out of the vehicle.
The driver and passenger ran from the car and the gun-wielding man took the car.
The victims described the man as a black male, 25-30 years old, 6' tall, with a slender build.
Police say he has light facial hair and was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt.
It's unclear if that suspect was the one who drove the car into the creek.
Officials say no one was found inside the vehicle.
"They got it towed over to the impound lot, and then we have a crime scene investigator that will process it to look for any evidence that may have been left behind," said Officer Angela Sands.
Anyone with information is urged to call Lincoln Police or CrimeStoppers.
